Founder Bak Kut Teh

Was trying lechon in Cebu, and one of the accompanying dishes tasted like Pig Trotters in Bak Kut Teh - and then I found out that Camille has never eaten Bak Kut Teh!

Even worse, BECCA, who's Chinese, has never tried it before either! Crazy!

So we had lunch (only served between 12 to 2pm) at Founder Bak Kut Teh at Balestier Road.

Camille arrived early and got a seat. She couldn't really order (she didn't know how to order, anyway), while the staff could barely understand her cause they couldn't speak mandarin.



It's my second or third time here... This place is full of photos of the owner with various celebrities.



Standard BKT fare - Bak Kut Teh, Pig Trotters, Salted Vegetables, Youtiao (which we ordered two bowls of), with Rice.



Pig Trotters! The best (unhealthiest) part of BKT.



Soup was fantastic, better than the Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh stall at Havelock Road. But I felt the dishes were better at Ya Hua.

Nonetheless, great meal!


The entire thing cost us $22.

I love Chinese food, so I would definitely be back here for more. We seldom eat Bak Kut Teh with our friends, right?
